MDLIVE Appoints Jonathan Salon as President to Drive Company’s Next Chapter of Growth

MIRAMAR, Fla, April 20, 2022 – MDLIVE, an Evernorth company and leading provider of virtual care services in the U.S., today announced the appointment of Jonathan Salon as President. In his new role, Salon will focus on expanding MDLIVE’s virtual care capabilities while collaborating with Evernorth on new solutions to bring a more connected patient care experience for the diverse needs of health plans, employers, and government organizations – and the people they serve. Salon previously served as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, where he played an instrumental role in scaling MDLIVE’s commercial operations, including growing its portfolio of health plan and employer clients and spearheading the integration of MDLIVE into Evernorth. He will report to Matthew Bennett, Senior Vice President of care delivery at Evernorth.

“Virtual care is an integral part of care delivery, and MDLIVE is a critical accelerant as we transform how care is accessed and delivered,” said Bennett. “Jon is a seasoned healthcare and technology leader who has been instrumental in MDLIVE’s success and is well positioned to lead MDLIVE in its next chapter of growth as we create a more convenient, personalized experience that delivers better health outcomes.”

Salon brings to the role 25 years of experience across a broad range of business functions, including operations, go-to-market strategies, corporate development, finance, and legal, along with a consistent track record of driving meaningful business growth. He joined MDLIVE’s executive leadership team in early 2020 after serving 15 years as managing director of Bedford Funding, a private equity firm focused on growth investments in healthcare and technology-focused businesses. He spearheaded the firm’s investment in MDLIVE in 2015 and has provided strategic and operational leadership ever since, contributing to the company’s trajectory of high growth and operational maturation.

Salon was instrumental in MDLIVE’s efforts in 2020 to scale its provider network in response to an overwhelming increase in patient demand for virtual care services resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. He has experience working in every part of the organization and played key roles in MDLIVE’s sale to Evernorth in April 2021 and the integration of the business following the transaction.

“As MDLIVE continues to evolve and innovate in the increasingly competitive virtual care marketplace, we must stay focused on driving profitable, sustainable, and strong growth,” said Salon. “That focus includes further positioning MDLIVE as a core component of an integrated offering that enables Evernorth to evolve whole-person care delivery, transforming and improving how care is accessed and delivered.”
