One of the core selling points of virtual care is accessibility. Across geographical divides, where access can be impeded by a lack of brick-and-mortar providers, virtual care can serve as a great equalizer. But without tailored solutions, virtual care cannot be truly equal.

Men and women experience healthcare differently due to biological, social, or behavioral factors, with unique drivers and barriers to care. But traditional care models often fail to account for these differences. Virtual care can and should be adaptable and responsive to these unique needs.

Fortunately, society is moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach.

Provider shortages.

+ Men’s and women’s health have taken the spotlight.

69% of employers recognize the importance of providing comprehensive women’s health benefits to attract and retain top talent.1

Scheduling conflicts.

+ Yet, care is increasingly difficult to access.

One in five US adults had to wait more than two months to see a doctor, with longer waits in some regions.2

Safety concerns are rising as DTC services grow.

+ Safety concerns are rising as DTC services grow.

66% of publications have safety concerns around DTC (direct-to-consumer) services due to a lack of clinical rigor, care consistency, and proper medication supervision.3

And, while DTC care offerings can be gender-specific, they often lack integration with existing systems and fail to consider a full 360-degree view of the patient's care profile.

MD Live is uniquely positioned to meet this challenge through a comprehensive, holistic approach.

Care that considers unique barriers.

Some barriers to care are universal, like cost or availability. But other barriers, such as stigmas or caregiving responsibilities, may be more gender-specific.

Accessibility is often one of the primary benefits of DTC care, as it allows people to get faster, more convenient care. But unlike other providers, MD Live understands the unique barriers to care that men and women face. Here are some of the most common barriers and how MD Live addresses them:

Removing barriers allows men and women to get the care they need when they need it.
