Charles S. Jones
Chief Executive Officer & Chairman
Mr. Jones has spent much of his career as an operating executive for a wide range of large, public international companies and small, growth-driven private companies based in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Mr. Jones has a reputation for innovation and customer-centric growth strategies. He was Global Chief Operating Officer of London-based Shandwick plc, which during his tenure became the largest public relations firm in the world. Before becoming Managing Partner of Bedford Funding, Mr. Jones was Chairman and then CEO of Markham, Ontario-based Geac Computer Corporation, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed software company with annual revenues approaching U.S. $500 million. During Mr. Jones’s tenure, he transformed the Geac business with two large public-company acquisitions, and built an innovative and market-leading business intelligence software enterprise, focused on the financial value chain. On October 1, 2001, the Wall Street Journal named Geac the number one performing global stock. In 2004, Mr. Jones was named on the top 10 list of CEOs in Canada and, in 2005, on the top 25 list of CEOs in Canada by Canada’s National Post newspaper.
Chief Medical Officer and President MDLIVE Medical Group
Lyle Berkowitz, MD, FACP, FHIMSS is a primary care physician, a digital healthcare innovator and a health tech entrepreneur. He has a long history of intersecting clinical, information technology and innovation responsibilities with executive management, business and entrepreneurial roles.
For much of the past 20 years, Dr. Berkowitz has helped lead IT and Innovation at Northwestern Medicine, a top 15 healthcare system with annual revenue of over $5 billion dollars. He has additionally helped start and manage several healthcare IT companies in that time frame, and current sits on the boards of healthfinch, Oneview Healthcare, and Intelligent Locations.
He additionally serves on the Advisory Boards of the Innovation Learning Network (ILN) and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS), is a member of the Editorial Board for Clinical Innovation + Technology, and is the author of Innovation with Information Technologies in Healthcare. He has been listed as one of HealthLeader’s “Twenty People Who Make Healthcare Better”; Healthspottr’s “Future Health Top 100”, and Modern Healthcare’s “Top 25 Clinical Informaticists”.
He graduated with a Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He has been elected to Fellowship in both the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
Chief Marketing Officer
Mindy joined MDLIVE as Chief Marketing Officer with over 20 years of experience leveraging data and insights to create breakthrough marketing programs. She has a solid track record launching new business opportunities, driving marketing strategy and personalization, and building high performing teams.
Most recently, Mindy was a Group Vice President at Walgreens where she was responsible for driving customer behavior among Walgreens’ 90 million Balance Rewards loyalty program members, as well as the associated sales and profit impacts.
Before joining Walgreens, Mindy spent the majority of her career focused on customer loyalty, personalized marketing, and insights; primarily working with retail and consumer goods companies. Mindy earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from University of Illinois, and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati.
Chief Product Officer
Kristen joined MDLIVE with more than 25 years of experience in nursing, healthcare technology, product management, and sales. She leads MDLIVE’s product team with a focus on expanding MDLIVE’s online healthcare service offerings, enhancing MDLIVE’s consumer and provider experience and driving client outcomes.
Prior to joining MDLIVE, Lalowski was the Vice President of Strategy and Solutions of N-of-One, a molecular decision support company, where she drove the launch of new products in both existing and previously untapped pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. In this position, Lalowski also managed the solutions, sales, marketing and engineering functions of the company to consistently generate tangible outcomes.
Lalowski has held several executive roles in solutions management, including Vice President of Cross-Product Solutions at Allscripts. In this position, she managed a large cross-functional team while leading the strategic integration of the company’s seven business units. Lalowski was also the Vice President of Solutions Management at Optum, managing and holding profit-and-loss responsibility for multiple product lines. Lalowski also held a VP Product Management role at Picis as well as sales and services roles at Picis and Ibex. Prior to her work in healthcare technology, Lalowski was an emergency department nurse and nurse manager, positions that provided her with valuable clinical and management experience for driving business in the healthcare industry.
She has a BSN from Loyola University of Chicago and has taken executive courses at University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School as well as University of Chicago’s Booth Business School. Lalowski lives in Chicago with her husband, two teenage sons, and their beloved rescue dog. She is an avid reader and snowboarder and enjoys traveling with her family.
Chief People Officer
Malvika possesses 10+ years of progressive human resources experience in the consulting, technology, industrial and consumer goods industries.
Malvika brings to MDLIVE, Inc. a high level of strategic acuity, operational know-how and an entrepreneurial mindset. Most recently, she served as the Vice President Global Human Resources at Flavors Holdings Inc., a food ingredients company, where she oversaw the HR function for an organization of 600 employees across 21 countries. Prior to Flavors Holdings Inc., Malvika held key HR and Talent leadership roles at Danaher Corporation and at CareerBuilder.com.
In these roles, Malvika helped various businesses position themselves successfully for growth by building organizational and leadership capabilities, driving engagement and culture initiatives and developing and executing strategies to attract and retain top talent. Malvika has gained experience in M&A, both on the buy and sell side, and has also led complex organizations in public as well as private companies.
Malvika earned her Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She speaks English, Hindi and conversational French. Malvika was born and raised in Mumbai, India and enjoys travel, reading, working on her French and spending time with family and friends in her free time.

Nakort Valles brings more than 10 years of experience crafting highly scalable software. Prior to joining MDLIVE in November 2015, Nakort was co-founder of YACFirm, a consulting company specializing in bringing world class development to startup companies.
Interim Chief Compliance Officer
Paul Goldman, MBA, CHC, CHPC is a senior Executive with over 40 years’ experience in managing and motivating staff. He has C-Suite experience in creating/managing corporate areas of Executive Management, Compliance, Strategic Planning, Financial Analysis and P&L management. He is highly adept in identifying gaps and/or risk exposure in operations as well as developing and implementing strong systems of corporate checks-and-balances. He has strong listening, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills as well as a keen sense of bottom-line profitability.
Chief Revenue Officer
Michael is responsible for the overall direction, focus, and performance of the company’s client services and sales organization. Michael’s responsibilities include accountability for the financials of the company, client relationships, satisfaction, marketing, utilization and business development efforts for all MDLIVE solutions and services in all business segments across the United States. Michael joined MDLIVE in March of 2018. Prior to his arrival at MDLIVE, Michael worked for Cerner Corporation in a variety of executive and leadership positions for the past 13 years. Cerner Corporation is a multi-billion-dollar global healthcare technology company that is publicly traded on the Nasdaq. Michael is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has a Bachelor of Arts in business from the Henry Bloch School of Business. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Park University. Michael and his family reside in Kansas City, MO.
Vice President, Professional Services
Kristin has been with MDLIVE for nearly 4 years and she is responsible leading the Professional Services Organization both strategically and operationally. She is focused on excellence in implementations and consulting services that deliver on MDLIVE’s commitment to be the highest quality, largest provider of virtual health management and care, recognized for world class consumer and clinician experience. In her role, Kristin most enjoys working with our clients to identify the best opportunities to leverage virtual care programs, developing technical solutions and strategies that will ensure long term success and leading a team that is motivated, dedicated and talented. Prior to joining MDLIVE in 2015, Kristin was the Director of Professional Services at CareCloud where she focused on Professional Services for customers implementing small scale EMR technology and prior to that Kristin was the Practice Administrator for a group of psychiatrists and psychologists in South Texas. Kristin has over 15 years of experience in: Healthcare Administration, Technology, Program and Project Management and she has certification as Project Management Professional.
Vice President, Call Center
Erick has been with the MDLIVE family for 3 years and is responsible for all Customer Service Operations today with a focus on leveraging technology and new processes to deliver more efficient and scalable consumer solutions. He is responsible for developing the new capabilities and processes to support existing or planned new product offerings and deliver a world class consumer experience for all our solutions.
He has over twenty years of customer service experience in a call center environment with significant experience in healthcare. Prior to joining MDLIVE, he has held various positions such as Director of Customer Service & Inside Sales, Director of Client and Service Operations and Call Quality Manager that span a broad scope of responsibilities including: Call center operations, Claims Intake & Clinical Administration, Billing & Eligibility, Project Leadership, Appeals & Grievances Coordinating and Outbound Sales & Resource Planning.
He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and has managed projects achieving Corporate Presidential Awards for developing solutions that maximize efficiencies, cost savings and increasing data quality.
Senior Vice President, Enterprise Client Organization
Matt oversees the performance of all health plan, employer and reseller clients across the MDLIVE Enterprise book of business. This includes driving existing client growth, client satisfaction, utilization, renewals and overall financials for the Enterprise Organization.
Prior to joining MDLIVE in June of 2016, Matt worked for Availity, LLC in various leadership roles driving revenue and overall client success from the health plan business segment. He also has over 7 years of experience working at Florida Blue in various business development roles. Matt is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in both Business Administration and Information Systems. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
Chief Legal Officer
Rachel has 20+ years as a general counsel and executive leader with broad health care law, corporate/transactional, governance, regulatory and employment experience. Most recently, Rachel served for 10 years as Executive Vice President & General Counsel for Sinai Health System, Illinois’ largest private safety-net health system serving Chicago communities disproportionately affected by illness, poverty and other social challenges. In addition to her role as the Chief Legal Officer for Sinai, Rachel served as the executive lead for the Board Governance Committee, and as legal advisor to the Board Finance, Government Affairs, and Audit and Compliance Committees. Rachel also was appointed as the Interim Executive for the Sinai Urban Health Institute, focused on developing innovative, evidence based population health management solutions and improving health equity.
Before joining Sinai, Rachel served for 8 years as Deputy General Counsel for Northwestern Memorial Health Care, a large Academic Medical Center in Chicago.
Rachel received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Colgate University, and her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School. Following law school, she clerked for United States District Court Judge Edward Rafeedie, was an Associate in the Health Law Department of McDermott, Will & Emery and served as Associate General Counsel for Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Rachel also served as President of the Illinois Association of Health Care Attorneys and as an Adjunct Lecturer in Health Law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In 2017, Rachel received a Role Model Award from the Harvard Law School Society of Illinois and in 2016, a First Chair Award honoring top in house counsel.
Rachel is a member of the Board of Directors of Chicago Sinai Congregation and the Youth Guidance Organization’s Council on Working on Womanhood (“WOW”), which provides counseling and mentoring to over two thousand young women in 40 Chicago Public Schools. Rachel also served for many years as a tutor with Tutoring Chicago (f/k/a Cabrini Green Tutoring Program).
Brian Treon, MD
Interim Chief Medical Officer
Doctor Treon has been a telehealth physician with MDLIVE since 2013. He has served as Medical Director and for the past two years, Chair of the Quality Committee. Dr. Treon is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and practices clinically in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and residency from York Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Treon has served as Medical Director for several Emergency Departments with annual volumes up to 80,000 visits per year. He also serves the Coroner for Clermont County since 2002 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio State Coroner’s Association.
Chief Operations Officer
Andy joined MDLIVE with 20+ years of experience in consumer-driven businesses, management consulting, and private equity. He brings a strong P&L mindset and is well equipped to help continue to scale the business while instilling operational excellence, process rigor, and a strong commitment to patient and clinician satisfaction.
Most recently, Andy was Vice President of the Customer Offer Development team at Walgreens Co., where he was responsible for launching new business models to support future growth. Prior to this role, he led retail transformation and built a high performing insights team that was leveraged for strategic decision making.
Prior to joining Walgreens, Andy spent much of his career in management consulting at Bain & Company, leading a variety of strategy and performance improvement projects across multiple industries. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical methods in the social sciences and economics, magna cum laude, from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Chief Financial Officer
Christopher joined MDLIVE as Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of financial leadership experience in Healthcare and Technology focused businesses. He has a solid track record of building high performing teams, driving strategy, and raising capital to support growth. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Catasys, Inc. (NASDAQ: CATS), where he led the Finance, Human Resource and Strategic Partnership functions of the company through a period of tremendous growth. Prior to joining Catasys, Inc., Christopher served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sentient Science Corporation and GE Intelligent Platforms Software. Christopher earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, and completed General Electric Company’s Experienced Financial Leadership Program.
