MDLIVE to capitalize on Swayne’s long history of successful leadership in the health technology field
SUNRISE, FL, July 23, 2013 – MDLIVE, a leading telehealth provider of online and on-demand health care, is pleased to announce Gregory Swayne has been named as Chief Operating Officer. In taking the role of COO, Swayne will oversee operations and usher MDLIVE thru its next phase of growth, serving a rapidly growing list of hospitals, employers, payers, physician practice groups and accountable-care organizations. Swayne has been a pioneer in e-health since its infancy when he created the idea for and co-founded A.D.A.M. in 1990. A.D.A.M, which began as a fully illustrated, dissectible male and female anatomy program quickly morphed into the best of breed provider of interactive health information and decision support tools, powering hundreds of health websites and dozens of health portals with updated health content including Yahoo health, AOL health and WebMD to name a few.
Prior to accepting the COO role with MDLIVE, Swayne served as Chairman and President of AirSage, a leading provider of population analytics and movement intelligence. Swayne will retain his responsibilities as Chairman of AirSage going forward. Prior to AirSage, Swayne served as the Chairman and CEO of Remark Media, where he led the global digital media company into Brazil and China, as well as oversaw the 1.0 technology platform build out of US based Sharecare. ShareCare, created by Jeff Arnold and Dr. Mehmet Oz, in partnership with Harpo Studios, Remark Media, Sony Pictures Television and Discovery Communications is a leading online health and wellness engagement platform providing millions of health-conscious consumers with a personal, results-oriented experience by connecting them to the most qualified health resources and programs they need to improve their health. Swayne also served as President and COO of the popular online content portal HowStuffWorks prior to its sale to Discovery Communications in 2007.
